Toronto, Ontario – March 27, 2025 — Samuel Gyeke-Amaoko, a highly skilled soccer coach and mentor with a deep commitment to player development, performance, and inclusivity, has continued to make a significant impact in the sports sector. Known for his expertise in grassroots and youth football, Samuel has demonstrated a proven track record of driving excellence in coaching, sports management, and community development.
Currently serving as Assistant Coach for the Provincial Xcel Program with Ontario Soccer, Gyeke-Amaoka provides coaching leadership to top youth male and female players across the province. His role includes planning, managing, and delivering training and competition plans while conducting training sessions, individual player development, and match analysis. Additionally, Samuel is an Assessor for Club Development with Ontario Soccer and a Learning Facilitator, responsible for delivering grassroots soccer courses that promote foundational coaching principles for youth athletes.
In addition to his coaching achievements, Coach Gyeke-Amaoka is deeply committed to uplifting underrepresented communities in soccer. As a Coach Mentor with the Coaches Association of Ontario, he plays an active role in supporting coaches from Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities through the Coach 2 Coach BIPOC mentorship program. He also mentors young coaches in the Aspiring Coaches, Youth Leadership Program, cultivating the next generation of leadership in the sport.
Previously, Samuel Gyeke-Amaoko served as a Coach Developer for Canada Soccer, delivering training sessions for coaches through the National Children’s Licence and National Youth Licence programs. As Technical Director and Head Coach at Sporting CP Academy Toronto, he developed over 300 athletes annually, aligning the academy’s methodology and philosophy with global standards while managing a team of 20 coaches and 10 administrative staff members.
Throughout his career, Samuel Gyeke-Amaoko has remained dedicated to fostering inclusive and supportive environments for athletes. His coaching philosophy emphasizes the development of technical skills, sportsmanship, and leadership. In addition to his current roles, Samuel has played pivotal roles in various coaching and administrative capacities at Sporting CP Academy Toronto, where he has served as Youth Coach, Assistant Technical Director, and Coach Mentor for nearly a decade.
Educational Background & Certifications:
Samuel Gyeke-Amaoko holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration and Justice Studies from York University in Toronto. He is currently pursuing an MSc in Performance Football Coaching at St Mary’s University, Twickenham, London. Among his many professional credentials, he is working toward completing his CONCACAF ‘A’ Diploma with Canada Soccer. His certifications also include UEFA Youth B and UEFA B with the Scottish FA, a Technical Director’s Diploma from Ontario Soccer, and specialized qualifications in youth football coaching from institutions such as Columbia University and the University of Birmingham.
